The Moulton Barn is an iconic photograph, and one all landscape photographers add to their portfolio. But this shot is not quite the classic one. Scouting the site the night before so I would be ready at sunrise I turned around and was greeted with this image. There was time for only a half dozen shots before the storm dissipated and sunset passed into dusk. I went back the next morning for the classic shot with the Teton Mountains in the back ground, but I think this is the one that stands out the most.
The storm came up so quickly I was completely surprised and could at first only stare in awe. Fortunately I had the camera and tripod with me and was able to take a picture to capture that moment. The light was surreal with a golden glow of sunset mixing with black storm clouds. Only the sudden peel of thunder made me decide it might be safer in the car rather than standing in the middle of a farm in a thunderstorm.
